We find that the most interesting creations are often inspired by strange, off-beat, and even gaudy moments in art and fashion. When a team of experts takes on the challenge of combining unexpected elements and ultimately makes it work, something truly fabulous happens. Case in point — this perfectly executed, wonderfully wild, ultra modern rooftop shoot at The Kimpton Journeyman! This unique shoot is a shining example of what Fancier Magazine is all about — crazy unique wedding ideas and seriously inventive event design.
The challenging mood board for this shoot included whacky 1980’s interiors (bizarre mirrored surfaces, pink marble, gaudy fabrics) and ultra-chic wedding trends (hand-painted greenery and sheer bridal socks). Our pals at Elevate Events and this team of wedding pros accepted the challenge, went to work and delivered SWOON-WORTHY results.

We are loving the funky, retro-inspired daisy jewelry by Cire’ Alexandria for this playful shoot! What a perfectly fun pairing with this chic, knee-length dress and embellished cape from Alexandra Grecco — one of our absolute favorite dress designers. Oh, and of course, that stunning rock from Soha Diamond Co.
Over the years we’ve seen a variety of creative ways to display escort cards, but we’ve never seen a display quite like this. We LOVE the simplicity, the clean lines, the shade of “millennial pink” and especially the creative use of mirrors. Our pal Shelby Made It truly crushed it with this design!
This is our favorite use of “millennial pink” yet! This unique palette of pink, baby-blue, silver and deep-plum is giving us both whimsical and rock-n-roll vibes (and we’re totally crushing). Kudos to Erika at Flowers for Dreams for her choice to forgo traditional greenery and opt for super on-trend, hand-painted elements instead.
Elevate Events smartly incorporated plenty of marbled elements to add some much-needed texture to this bold, color-blocked table. We especially love this soft, textural menu design by Shelby Made it which adds a touch of romance to the mix.
We’re SO freakin’ excited to see a “sock trend” emerging on the bridal scene! If you’re a fashion-forward bride looking for a totally unique addition to your look, consider pairing sheer socks with some chic, strappy heels. Feast your eyes on the amazing selection offered over at Free People!
We have a HUGE crush on this pink marbled cake (below) by Yield Bakehouse, but when it comes to crazy unique desserts, we can’t help but *stare* at these fabulous geometric jellies! We couldn’t imagine any other dessert pairing so perfectly with this wonderfully whacky, wedding inspiration shoot!
